Looks uncannily like my jack, which I think I paid about £20 for from Halfords, years ago. Certainly does the job but would always use axle stands as well. Stornoway Grey GS ... What a fine motor ... but not any more ... ... psst look at my gallery!

I have found that those jacks do not have nearly enough lift and have an alloy "racing" jack with 450mm lift plus a heavy duty 2.5 ton with 530 mm. both of these are fine. |

I have got the Halfords version of this jack and agee with Bryden, not nearly enough lift so it has been relegated to my everday 100,000+ miles old Rover 214Sei in Burgandy(aren't they all).

Slightly off topic but could someone give me advice on a torque wrench as I also want to take the wheels off for a good clean and I am a bit put off by the manual saying that you have to use a torque wrench ( which I have not got) or have ever used. What is wrong with just using the wrench with the freelander I assume that there is a one in the boot!! |

Aluminum rims : 133 Nm = 1 ft bar with my clumsy boot on it. Never tighten them more than you will be able to to unslacken at the side of the road during a rainstorm.
