A few standard items on the GS have been stripped, they try and justify it by giving you leather.

Hopefully you get your perfect freely soon. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

Tbh a few times as always in the Brecon Beacons,....and think the plastic blanking bits look awful esp on lighter colours,,....I've been bit twice by extras by dealers,,,not no more,....they only benefit the dealers not you,as when u come to trade in,u spent say £1000 on extras your car is worth the same as one that is totally std spec,,,they put it on forecourt and bost its got this and that.its hard work buying land rovers!! Shocked but at least I go £1200 more and the dealers offered Thumbs Up private through autotrader. Current: Freelander 2 GS, Orkney Grey, Factory fit privacy glass, design pack and Clearview pack. A few weeks back I was fortunate that the exact spec of car I wanted was already built and sitting at Halewood - but there was only one in that spec...otherwise we'd have to wait for one being built to our spec.

I assume there will be some form of factory shutdown now for a few weeks - many manufacturers do which might explain the delay.

Have you considered a demonstrator over a new vehicle?

Sounds like you will be heading to 63 plate land?

You should always be able to get more selling your car privately than trading in...and it does give more bargaining power..however the dealer is looking to make £2-3k on your old car..so yes you've probably miffed them a bit. The current discounts I believe are a mix of LR and dealer discounts - you are suddenly a much less attractive customer to them unless you're going in on the 28th of the month with cash.

Maybe try another dealer who?

ah well - you pays your money - you makes your choice.

£450 is diddlesquat compared to the price of the car. If you want a car quickly you pay £450..if you can wait without spending money on another car until September then that's your answer. You're right the lighting pack doesn't add value in secondhand terms..but for me the almond leather reduces the value..so horses for courses really - it's all personal choice. C

Sensible car manufacturers limit supply almost to the build to order scenario - it helps maintain desirability and values - but does mean there are fewer quick cars available..if you want one of those you have to be flexible or be lucky.

Do you really want almond leather ? When you come to selling it in a few years time ebony leather is far more desirable than almond Thumbs Up

2013 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Ipanema Sand

I've just ordered an XS in Ipanema Sand with almond leather and nutmeg carpets. This is as they quote a "designer choice" and not the recommended choice so I don't think you will be able to find a stock vehicle. MY 2013 TD4 XS Manual, Ipanema Sand. Cold Climate Pack, Spare Wheel, Side Mouldings, Armrest Pack, Rear Camera, Detachable Tow Bar, Spoiler.
Gone. My 2011 TD4 GS Manual, Cold Climate Pack, Front Sensors, Spare Wheel, Side Mouldings.

Why , ebony is so dull and oppressive inside and what's more most 'low rent' wannabe 4x4 s are black interior!!

be bold , and sensible , go for class and have a light interior , really sets the LR brand apart

It's really annoying that LR don't have many colour options available! Only if you go for the Dynamic or HSE LUX. I would like the leather seats, (not Windsor) in grey! Next time I will probably go for an HSE lux with Almond or Ivory interior.
