Mine hasn't changed at all since my last post. Just gutless from low-revs until the turbo kicks in. Same from pull-away ... have to really push down on the throttle to build revs, then let off when lifting the clutch once I have the revs.

My job involves driving a number of different car / van diesels. One thing I notice is a 1.6D focus behaves noticeably different to the Fl2 (I know its a totally different engine but hear me out). When you go for a normal pull away, and start pressing the throttle gently, the engine jumps its revs quickly to about 1200rpm then stays there even if the throttle pedal is varied slightly. Its like it knows your wanting a smooth pull away, so holds the revs for you. Works very well.

There is a new transit floating about which i think has the same 2.2 core engine as the Fl2. I didn't feel that it was as sluggish like the FL2 either ( much smoother clutch too )

Wales 2011 Freelander 2 TD4_e GS Manual Bali Blue

Mine went back into Stratstones in Swansea today but as usual they could neither find nor recreate the problem.

The problem has now been referred to Land Rover so I await their response. Green Discovery 300tdi Modified,

United Kingdom 2014 Freelander 2 SD4 XS Auto Loire Blue

Our 11 reg FL2 came back from the dealer last week having been sent in again for slow throttle response and they said they had reset the ECU and "recalibrated" the airflow system. Whatever they did it seems to have done the trick and the car now drives like our pre facelift 60 reg one.
