frawdder - not sure about earlier FL2 models/sat-navs but certainly on on MY13 vehicles my dealer assured me that updates are via them (download) and not on disc. And guess what... the cost of the upgrade is to be the same as the discs! |

Old system via DVD ... new systems are by download.... no doubt to a) keep cost high and b) keep the profit coming to LR and not legal disk resellers imho.

Will there be anymore updates for the models prior to MY13 The word is that take up of the updated discs is poor so LR are not instructing Navtech to do any updates. Just what I've heard, but this time last year I already had the 2012-2013 disc. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior |

Thanks for the responses. Upgraded discs were part of the agreement when purchased, just wanted to check what was the current release as some have already stated that even the 2012/13 discs do not include roads around our way that were completed in 2011. |

Have to say I was astonished at the cost of the upgrade disks and I am not surprised they don't sell very well! Tom Tom is a better system and updates cost less than a fifth of the LR syatem.

mines a 09 and its never had a disc update, not too bothered if they don't produce them any more, worse case scenario is i buy a second hand 12/13 update, or swap to the volvo disc that were mentioned on here a while ago, if they keep updating them. Our disks haven't been updated since 2008, odd new dual carriageway missing but minor roads don't change much. Is it worth updating as I haven't been that impressed by SatNav anyway? Our previous nissan Pathfinder was far better configured and seemed to elect more sensible routes. Steve
