2013/14 Sat Nav discs

If not available already when do the 2014 disc's get released? I remember reading a post that mentioned they were due in a couple of months, back in march.

frawdder - not sure about earlier FL2 models/sat-navs but certainly on on MY13 vehicles my dealer assured me that updates are via them (download) and not on disc. And guess what... the cost of the upgrade is to be the same as the discs!

Old system via DVD ... new systems are by download.... no doubt to a) keep cost high and b) keep the profit coming to LR and not legal disk resellers imho.

Also the 2nd hand market will die off so some one who may go for a disk a couple of years old off ebay instead will be unable to do so.....

Will there be anymore updates for the models prior to MY13 Question The word is that take up of the updated discs is poor so LR are not instructing Navtech to do any updates. Just what I've heard, but this time last year I already had the 2012-2013 disc. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

Thanks for the responses. Upgraded discs were part of the agreement when purchased, just wanted to check what was the current release as some have already stated that even the 2012/13 discs do not include roads around our way that were completed in 2011.

Have to say I was astonished at the cost of the upgrade disks and I am not surprised they don't sell very well! Tom Tom is a better system and updates cost less than a fifth of the LR syatem.

If LR stop disk updates I imagine there will hell to pay from the many thousands of system owners even if they don't want to update each year!

I bought a Garmin 3590, Itīs much easier to use, lays out better routes, better on everything.

The on-board navigator is just good enough for overwiew and different zoom-levels, i think.

mines a 09 and its never had a disc update, not too bothered if they don't produce them any more, worse case scenario is i buy a second hand 12/13 update, or swap to the volvo disc that were mentioned on here a while ago, if they keep updating them. Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Our disks haven't been updated since 2008, odd new dual carriageway missing but minor roads don't change much. Is it worth updating as I haven't been that impressed by SatNav anyway? Our previous nissan Pathfinder was far better configured and seemed to elect more sensible routes. Steve
