Anybody used the AG Engine & Machine Cleaner

Thinking about giving the FL2 a all over clean and polish inside and out.

But I also want to give the engine bay a decent clean as well so back to the question how good is
'Auto Glym Engine & Machine Cleaner'

It says spray on Leave and agitate with a brush, rinse off

I have never bothered to do the engine bay previous so I'm not too sure on the best product, so any advice on what you lot have used or heard about would be great Thumbs Up

I think I have got everything else

Meguiars NTX shampoo
P21s Alloy cleaner,
AG Alloy Seal,
Meguiars Endurance High Gloss Tyre Gel,
AG Fast Glass
AG Window Polish,
AG Leather Cleaner
Race Glaze Colour Enhance on order (Matt Finish Trim detailer)
'FLASH' Car wash gun to rinse the car with filtered water
Ring Dri maniacal (I'm too lazy to ring out chamois leathers myself)
AG Deep Gloss Polish (or)
AG Super Resin Polish
AG Super Gloss Protection

a Box full of Microfibre Cloths
2 Buckets
3 Microfibre Mitts
1 Horse hair Brush
Sponge for the tyres
Pressure Washer Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I think you've got enough to do a fleet of jumb jets!!!!

Maybe you could pop over and give mine the once over when you're done? Please?!!! Mine is covered in dust and I am definately too lazy to clean it, and I can't find the man in the garage to clean it Crying or Very sad

Think i'm going to follow your lead and pop out to get some meguiars stuff.

I use it to spread out and agitate the alloy wheel cleaner, knowing its not going to scratch them make the job a lot easier Whistle spraying it means it goes through the spokes and a waste lots and at £22 Embarassed a litre i don't like wasting it

Some say a paint brush is just as good, but mine doesn't have the metal holding in the hairs Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Hi,

You might also want to get some masking tape, to mask up the black trim so you don't have to clean the polish residue off the black trim.

Depending on the state of the paint work you might also want to think about getting a clay bar & quick detailer to remove the stuck on bits of tar and road gunge.

I use super resin polish on mine followed by a couple of coats of extra gloss protector.

Regards

Paul;

i seen the clays on the web

Seem quite straight forward to use them with the use of detailer spray to lube

Body works not got too bad yet,

I have heard its good on the black spots that seems to build up on the wheel, but i give my meguiars APC a go on that first

What i wouldn't mind doing is paint correction, to get rid of those slight swirls, but I think i would have to pay somebody for that before I unleash myself on the FL2 with a rotary polisher,

I could alway practice on the wifes car Razz

Just bought 25L of Turtle Wax Professional Wash & Wax today, only i think I never have to buy anymore for the next 25 years now Whistle Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Thanks npinks!!!!

After your post I headed out and went slightly crazy in the store, and came back with 6 or 7 bottles and sprays from the Meguiars range along with a mircofibre this and that.

Only problem is now I have to try and explain to my car cleaner how to use each of them and with which cloth/sponge to use them with....wish me luck! Banging Head

hopefully the car should be perfect again within the next couple of hours.

If you can feel smallish bumps on the paintwork when you run your fingers over it then its time to clay, I found the bottom of the front doors to be the worst place.

If you get a dual action polisher there is not a lot of damage you can do, a rotary takes a more skill . . .

So I bought all this rather expensive Meguiars, which is a first for me, as in the past I've not really been that fussed.
So with the above in mind I was under the impression the guy was going to wash the car 3 times a month, but I said it needs doing at least once a week (its dusty here), so he said ok 4 times for the same price...............it appears we were speaking different languages and we were actually dealing on washes per week, so I've ended up with the car getting washed 4 times a week Rolling with laughter

Might need to see if that is a bit overkill and more importantly look at 25L of turtle wax for next time!! Laughing
