I have not seen any recommendation but I would guess 500 mile makes sense if towing a caravan too? |

I couldn't wait. 90 miles was on the clock when I hooked the caravan on and 900 when I returned home.

My own freelander was a week late ! so i ran mine in towing on a weeks holiday to Dufries(Scotland) and it has never missed a beat and has had the oil topped up once in 7000 mls, that was the most ive ever got to a tank of fuel too!! 400 mls whilst towing 1450kg!!!! But i did keep to 50mph ish, which is faster than most solo cars on the A66 anyway,

We were all far to polite to point it out - we knew where you meant anyway! How can carbon have a footprint, it has no feet? Now driving - RRE Coupe Dynamic Lux Auto with Plus pack, Fuji White, Ebony, SD4 with tow pack Gone - 2010MY FFRR TDv8 Stornoway and Ivory, Privacy - the pace of a TDv8 RRS, the incomparable grace of a Range Rover Gone but will be missed- RRS Tdv8 HSE Stornoway Grey with Ebony Leather Gone (only a little missed) RRS Tdv6 2.7SE Giverny Green/Aspen Defender 90 County HT in Epsom Green |

Its great to read all the comments and experience of FR2 users. As my FR2 is an automatic its hard to beleive I can thrash the engine, anyway I'll play it safe and take it easy for 500 miles or so. the caravan has done its 250,000 miles so i'll be ok with that.

Taken early retirement so Plenty of time to spare don't think i'll make the next ice age though but who knows towing a caravan, thank goodness running in does'nt mean 30,40 50MPH. |

250,000 miles at an average speed of 30 mph (and that's generous) = 8333 hours and you call it a holiday!! That nearly a year of towing.
