Excellent city/town car

Hi all
Just thought it worthy of a mention a few weeks ago I bought my wife a brand new well nearly, it had 400 miles on the clock, it is a Skoda Citygo, 1.0mpi SE.

Big problem, I sold my FL2 to get something else about a week later and at the moment the wife does not get to drive her new car, I do and what a fantastic little run around it is!

It is giving easily 58mpg and pulls like a little train all the way through the rev range and in all gears, only insurance group 1E.

I can honestly say if anyone needs a cheap to buy and run, little car that keeps up on the smaller A roads nips round town, feels and handles like a bigger car, this is worth a look at.
I Would avoid the very base S model and go a bit further up the range for some comforts, like central locking and electric windows.

Regards

I like those little Skodas. They look better than the Volkswagen UP! IMHO and they are they are slightly cheaper. I don't really understand why the UP! is so popular and the Skoda and Seat versions aren't, even though they are the same cars underneath. I guess people buy Volkswagens because they know the brand more.

Enjoy Thumbs Up

That is it, badge snobbery, is a big part.
Everything in the car is marked with the VAG stamp and I prefer the full boot with metal lower part, to the glass one you get with the UP.
Also the UP's front takes some getting used to for me.
The best looking front is on the Seat for me it looks the sharper of the 3 models.

I had a Skoda Octavia a few years back, fantastic car, better specced than the other stable products of VW and Audi.
One of our engineers has recently got a Seat Exeo Sport tourer, OK, it's the old A4 but cracking full spec, very very nice indeed.
I wonder sometimes if Seat/Skoda would get a Tiguan based model, that would possibly worth looking at, the current Tiguan and A5 are good cars but very expensive if specced up.

What does the Skoda Yeti equal in the VW range is that not a Tiguan size? (GONE) FL2 2008 SE (manual) Santorini Black, the expensive one Sad

I agree defenderben-
you cant beat a small town car for fun, we have couple of Citroen C1's which are similar to the skoda but just quite a bit more peppy on performance. ( having driven both can confirm the C1 very nippy in comparison, we get 58-63 running and about 72ish on a run.
Superb light controls and excellent power steering- very very nippy making it great fun to drive.
Small cars these days have very much improved and road noise has been reduced and improved crash ratings but its the economics that make em fun. £20.00 a year road tax always puts a smile on my face and the new ones now are tax free. Thumbs Up
