My FL2 was back to part time rally service barge on Saturday. Collected the rally car from the bodyshop after it has had a fresh coat of paint. Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Towed the van down to Hayle from near Exeter, fantastic journey and it was so effortless in the Freelander. Our old CRV 2012 did not tow as well and always looked overburdened even though correct weights and distribution were used.

Fitted the clips found on eBay (which happened to be a genuine Ford part) to make the
top of rear mud flaps fit better.

I'd been looking for a suitable clip like the ones that comes with the kit for a while.

Sometimes, it's the small things...

I just searched for mud flap clips and they appeared
and they looked right, so I took a chance...

There were 2 lots on eBay, but I think the second lot has
gone now too...

No bother.

If you can't find them on the interwebnet, you could try your nearest Ford dealer...

Noticed the timing belt cover was loose due to a missing bolt. At least I could see the timing belt was a Contitech one which is what is on the sales invoice from the supplying garage.

Needless to say a suitable bolt is in place now.

Good job I decided to change the fuel filter today...

Replaced the EGR valve.

I never want to do that again, what a fiddle that job is! One bolt was missing, another sheared, so suspect the previous owner had tried and failed at the first hurdle....

Most fiddly bit was getting the clamp onto the exhaust feed into the cooler. My knippex Cobras always seemed to be at just the wrong angle to get the required leverage, took me about 30 minutes of sweating before I persuaded that into place! Everything else was straightforward but slow as I worked out the right tool/extension for each fitting. Included lunch and a stop for coffee when the in-laws popped over, 5 hours. Without the interruptions and now I've done it once could comfortably do it in 2.5-3hrs - just don't want to! Laughing Current driveway contents:
2021 V60 Cross Country B5
2009 FL2 dog bus and shooting wagon

On Order: 2023 Fisker Ocean Ultra - deposit paid.
