I don't have an Aldi near me, but several people on other forums I use often praise their stuff.

I have a similar thing not from aldi, works well for the job I need it for, but its a bit of a possible finger trapper and if the wire rope frays the strands are as sharp as.

for £13 Im tempted to throw mine away and buy new from aldi. its used for tightening the special feed delivery chains in the chicken sheds. these are in a 400 ft circuit so need a fair bit of travel on a winch to take the slack.

I wouldnt want to pull out a tree stumps with it etc , in use your face isnt far from the wire ropes and if it snaps your going to get sharp wire strands right in the face At work

I used one for recovering a FL2 that found a natural spring out lamping rabbits about midnight one night.

Did the job but was a nightmare as such a short wire travel - I had to re-set about 3 times.

Better than nothing but only just. Worth it for that money.

Agreed. Hand winching is slow hard work. Those little ones are all identical as far as I have seen, must be all made in the same factory in China. The best hand winch is a Tirfor but they are very heavy to carry around and still hard work.
