Handbrake still applied, moved off about 6-8 feet and it bongs, or more like a beepbeep, it is not the seatbelt warning which is far higher pitched.

Especially for EY before he gets home......

Put car in D, leave handbrake on a couple of clicks so the light is still on and let the car go, after a couple of yards it will do this......

The Boss has just been out to test this theory of Taz's and no it will not do anything when you apply the handbrake other than illuminate the warning light and make the linings start to smell.

As I said, Photo shopped Whistle

I will swear on my pitiful existence that the video is genuine.
When driving along if I raise the hand brake lever slightly, just enough to put the light on it will also go bong bong Thumbs Up

I thought that it said Handbrake applied, but it actually says Parkbrake applied, what does yours say.

Bong warning was a late introduction in 2011/12 so some people will have it others won't. However it won't fix the shoes adjuster sticking which is a known problem on earlier ones to the best of my knowledge. What year is the car?

No bings or bongs on mine either although my handbrake is as much use as the blade runners bathroom door.

Word of warning. Driving with the handbrake on can result in enough heat to dry out the grease in the wheel bearings resulting in a 'wobble'. Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

My hand brake is rubbish and has virtually no effect (sailed through the MOT last month) so I am not surprised it was not immediately obvious apart from the vibration as you do not notice any loss of power. I will be refurbishing the handbrake mechanism in the spring.

Replaced the rear discs, pads and handbrake shoes on mine. Tested the handbrake at 40mph and got a full locking on both rear wheels. Shocked Handbrake turns are going to be a piece of pyss from now on! Very Happy Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

Tried mine yesterday. Moving, applied handbrake, got two bleeps and red warning "P" along with "caution handbrake applied" (or similar) in information display.
