A post has been deleted - presumably by the author. It used a few choice words to describe a mother who would leave a kid in a car with the engine running! I'll spare his blushes and not say who it was |

No need to spare my blushes. I deleted my own post as LUGGS sent me a PM complaining about it ______________________

I will will have to disagree with you there. I only post this as you have effectively supported the use of, in my opinion, inappropriate language. As I stated earlier if anyone on here was to use that reference, or a similar male orientated one, to an active member I am sure that a complaint would be raised. So my point is how can it be appropriate in any other context? There is world of difference between proffering an opinion on the questionable actions of someone who put their child in danger, and basically just being insulting. This was the latter. Clearly you must feel that I am too sensitive, and you are entitled to your opinion, but I am beginning to feel that I have been transported to a 1970's era. I certainly would not be happy if someone was to call my partner that phrase, and I would hope that you would feel the same. The phrase in question could not be construed to be amusing, or delivered in a comic context. I am not trying to flame thread, I am trying to get some manners and perspective. We live in 2012, this is not political-correctness. This is politeness and manners. Never tell me the odds. |

fair enough if you dont like a comment - make a complaint - all is corrected, hopefully everyone learns - thats the way the forum should work

Yup. I'll save my sympathies for the kid - it could have ended very differently. |

Also be reminded that if one leaves the keys in the car, with or without the engine running, it will probably be excluded under the terms of ones motor insurance policy so any damage caused by the miscreant will not be covered. So popping into a shop etc. or leaving the keys in the car on ones own drive is probably not covered. A typical example at this time of year is warming up the car in the morning on ones own drive and the vehicle just being driven away. A family in the next village lost two cars this way. - 2007(57) XS Auto, Rimini Red, Alpaca Leather.
