Frozen Side Windows

Travelled for two hours this morning, all in sub zero temps and duly arrived at the M6 toll booth only to find the drivers window frozen solid Embarassed So there I sat, cant get the window down, cant get the door open as I was too close, couldn't get far enough forward to reach through gap as bonnet too high to go under the barrier, you get the idea, it felt like half of Britain was behind me cursing Laughing

To cut a long story short, is there anything I can do to prevent the windows sticking, vaseline on the rubbers perhaps, does anyone know at which point it freezes in particular, my driveway is North facing and never gets any sun in winter, it will be March before it comes round and warms the cars.

Paul

"Bottom" recommended this stuff back in Dec 2010, when someone else had the same problem. I got some and coated all rubber seals with it. Great stuff.

I get worried when Taz suggested vaseline on his rubbers Laughing

I too have used silicon and it works fine Thumbs Up Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

"take the un-used LR bike and other stuff out of the garage and park your car in it"

Even if I took out the scooter, camping gear, fishing gear, golf gear, surfboards, tools, hose reel, buckets, decorating stuff etc., etc., the FL2 STILL wouldn't fit in my garage. Bikes, folding chairs and gardening stuff are in the shed! Cars must live outside.

What I really need is a big barn and somewhere to put it!

We do have one guy in our regular golf group who keeps his 3-series in the garage. I don't think dirt would dare to attach itself to that car Big Cry Ours - 2008 Stornoway Grey HSE Auto

odd isnt it I searched for a nice xmas QR code and the best one was from Basinstoke Confused my samsung phone cant read it from my avatur so either you have a better phone or a better screen?

I have 6 barns and a garage and the car still lives outside Rolling Eyes all be it with its nose in the garage door when its frosty, the RRS fits in the garage but then you either climb out of the back or sleep in the car, its a converted out building not a purpose build so was ok for morris 1100's and the like At work

There's a special dry powder lubricant that they use for awning rails on caravans to make the awning slip. I use that as it doesn't contaminate the glass or the beading but it adheres to the rubber and stops the water freezing to the beading and the glass. Ralph

Odd that it hadn't melted from the heat of inside the car by then. Do you have the temperature/fan set low?
