Considering fitting a camera for evidence in the event of accident, etc Cool

Disco group buy for a Blackvue is one possibility but not sure if this is the best or not so interested to hear from anyone who has one or similar Bow down

We are in the process of discussing with Pittasoft their pricing policy
Since they came out eight the HD model the price has come down a whopping 15 usd Confused
But the usd has weakened so will review what the best price we can do for a group buy
Last one we did for 199.99 inc pp and uk duty and vat

Will update later in the week and start a new post with a group buy

There's a Korean supplier on eBay (Blackvue being Korean, aiui) who offers the Blackvue relatively cheaply - e.g. 400G-HD II for £125 up to 400G-HD II with Power Magic Pro (to wire it in to the car electrics) and express delivery for £167. These prices do not, of course, include any import duties or VAT which HMG may decide to add.

Note that I have not used this supplier so this should not be taken as a recommendation, but their feedback seems good with most issues relating to customs delays.

But if there's going to be a group buy over on D3 I might be interested...

i use a Roadhawk. I have 4 of them and have used them for some years. One in each car.
I have also had successful prosecution with video evidence.

One of Criminal damage caught on camera
one of taxi driver carving me up big time ! he got three points
Car hit in supermarket car park caught on camera. Guy got done for hit and run !

It records audio as well as colour + time and date + GPS + XYZ axis g force data.
Has many other clever quirks as well, including a capacitor so it runs for 10 sec after electric cable cut so ideal in head on crash ! as most cars have a pryro technique mains cable now that breaks on impact !
also records at 25FPS from 5FPS if it sense's pending doom !

Hope it all helps

I think the roadhawks a good bit of kit, but a bit big for my liking, I would want to remove it from view which sort of defeats the object

Something to be aware of on the blackvue, it's a pc only system, so mac owners need to do some stuff to program it Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Actually the camera sits up so near the roof where the screen is dark you can't see it from outside. I have never had anyone notice it to be honest , not even passengers.
