check the thread on Disco3, KP just bought direct from an ebay seller in Korea for about £120, but a few followers have been stung with import duty

I bought a $10 badge from the states and was then charged £12.63 import/customs duty Rolling Eyes

I think some have got through as the seller shoves $20 gift on the box Rolling Eyes

I think even with import duty & vat your looking at a saving compared to what hids4u are selling at, shames the costs are do different Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I have had feedback from Pittasoft. They tell me there sales terms don't allow resellers to sell on eBay and there will be no warranty support from them. Not sure how they will control it but for sure I would feel better knowing I have to send my unit back to Southampton than Korea. We have to pay ourselves for shipping to and from Korea for faulty units!

Hids4u gives a 12 month warranty, is a forum member and is uk based so that is worth a bit extra to me Thumbs Up Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

That is the other side of the coin, save money or buy warranty via hids4u

eBay offer warranty nowadays anyone know how good it is? Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I know its not exactly a stand alone camera, but for those looking for a much cheaper solution, there are plenty APPs out there for your phone that will work in the same way should you have a bump.. I remember seeing them being reviewed on 5th gear a few weeks back, however, I cant for the life of me find the info on their website : (

Messing about with Iphone today in the Genie holder which I have on dash.
I used the Iphone video function and recorded Journey- great quality
Anybody know of a way / App that would allow me to record continually say in 5 min segments as a 'safety' feature in the Car ? As this would be any easy / cheap / no fuss way of having a safety camera

There is and I can't remember what it's called - search the app store and you will find it.

I tried it and it wasn't that good. I seem to recall thinking that an iphone is essentially a phone that does some other stuff, not an in-car recording instrument!

I have now fitted the Blackvue but it may have been too late for one incident at least Embarassed

Last month a woman reversed into our Mini while I was stationary causing damage to the front bumper - she tried to drive off but couldn't due to her tow bar getting stuck Confused

She got out of the car with a crutch and couldn't apologise enough telling me her insurance would sort everything and she never saw me. I felt sorry for her so turned down the courtesy car when mine went in because I could manage with one car Confused

She is now claiming I drove into her and produced a taxi driver who saw me run into her Shocked

I have lost 2 sales on the mini and had to fork out £300 excess. I have been waiting 4 weeks for cctv from the station car park where it happened and if I don't get it I will lose my excess, SWMBO's no claim bonus and face increased premiums next year Evil or Very Mad

I have spoken to the Police who advise it is a civil matter and can not help but when I told him about buying the blackvue he said you need them because everyone lies now Thud

I will not go anywhere without the blackvue now Banging Head Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Threaten to sue her for perjury and include the taxi driver as well.

The threat of a Court appearance will probably persuade one or both of them to tell the truth and if you decide to go down that route the police should take it more seriously.

I once had same thing a woman drove into me, she was parked at side of road and just set off into my side as I was stopped in traffic.
She drove about 100 yrds into a hotel car park got out and started walking into hotel cool as a cucumber, I pulled up and asked her what was going on and she burst out crying and admitted responsibilty. All was well details swapped politely, luckily I was polite to as it turned out she was the daughter of someone I did lot of business with at the time.

later she changed her story apparently I veered into her parked car, she was so shocked/scared and upset she drove to the hotel were she works to get help.

had to take it knock for knock on the insurance in the end Rolling Eyes , purely to keep her dad happy . At work

Hard to make a judgment, but on first sight there doesn't seem to be too much wrong with that, you hadn't reached the middle of the roundabout and he cleared your exit also it was a decent size roundabout with arrows, but you were prepared to and did go over the centre Smile
