I mean the the foam that holds both the wheel and tyre, and stops them rattling about in the boot. |

The spare is fastened to the floor of the wheel well with a long bolt. There's no foam around it, which leaves some useful space for storing odds and ends. |

There is a bit of polystyrene in the middle area where the jack, wheelbrace etc. go but this is not essential. John

It is not foam that you need.

Thanks Pab. It's just that on mine their is a big polystyrene block with all the puncture repair kit in holes, and i wondered how the spare would fit. Well at least i don't have to buy a foam block then thanks again |

They dropped the Polystyrene a few years ago, the Jack lays in the middle now, wheel over the top and a long bolt with a big plastic cap goes through the centre of the wheel then through the Jack holding it all in, the big cap on the end of the bolt then supports the floor of boot. |

Thanks again for the replys. I called in a land rover dealer today, and the bolt is about £5 plus vat. which i can live with as it keeps it OE. I also picked up a spare thanks again. |

When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car |

Mine didn't have a spare wheel (have since bought one on ebay), but the bolt was still in place, as it also supports the boot floor. |

My 2011 HSE doesn't have a spare wheel, I've been looking in to getting one but a land rover dealership and they quoted £150 just for a steel wheel without a tyre!

I got one off eBay. Also got a genuine jack and wheel brace kit too. Don't go to the dealer for anything except the long bolt that holds the wheel in place (£3) * GONE. GS TD4 Manual MY2013.
