Only done 77k so I haven't had the pleasure of replacing the belt, not sure if it's driven by the timing belt - I hope not. Having been caught out by the Octavia a few years ago (timing belt replaced 75k, belt driven water pump failed 80K), if it looks a to get to I will be changing it at the same time.

Hi Andy, the water pump is driven by the toothed timming belt and not the grooved belt used to run power steering, alternator etc etc.

Just booked my 2007 FL2 Auto into an independant LR specialist for service,timing belt and gearbox oil and filter change. 141000 on the clock so getting the belt done a little earlier but dont want to leave it until it hits 150000 just for peace of mind. Hopefully the pocket pain wont be too bad |
