POLICE TASER BLIND MAN

totally unbelievable ! I guess the copper needed a white stick as well.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2012/oct/17/p...-man-stick

From the CCTV how on earth could a policeman ever mistake a blind man's stick for a samurai sword !

I guess the policeman needs his eyes testing ! this time I don't think there is any excuse whatsoever and this time they have totally disgraced themselves ! with the old chap having already suffered 2 strokes it was lucky it didn't kill him.
from the CCTV the copper was only a few feet away ! unreal totally unbelievable.

I wait till I hear the police side of the story, it just sounds too clear cut, and unbelievable what he says in the video Confused

Police walk up, shout at him, for some unknown reason he can't hear what they are saying, Confused He is then tazered, Shocked

Normally, they would approach, shout armed police, put the weapon down, (slightly confusing if you haven't one) etc etc or you will be tazered!!!!! It shouldn't be how he makes it sound what went on

All very strange I you ask me, if it happened like he says heads should roll Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

POLICE TASER BLIND MAN

Surely even the Police Police cannot condone this.. even the most BASIC recruit straight out of Hendon Police collage can tell the difference between a blind persons collapsible cane and an offensive weapon ,if not WHY NOT .!

Will there now be a amnesty while all people who own walking stick,s one armed crutches , wheelchairs (motorized and non- motorized) are validated by the police and given a sticker to put on them (so they can be identified as a non -lethal weapons of mass destruction !!!.

From how i understand it the police had received a call saying there was someone about waving a samurai sword.

This guy is walking along the street, the policeman spots a stick, thinking its a samurai sword shouts to the guy but the blind man has no idea what's going on so assumes its someone else the copper is shouting at and the copper zaps him from behind !

I think the copper needs a white stick as clearly he cant see iether ! in the CCTV you can see the copper just runs up and zaps him in seconds !

i really do think on this occasion they may of got it badly wrong ! I have always supported the police but surley this is one step too far !

It is truly shocking - an overzeoluos policeman on adrenaline I would say - thankfully these things don't happen often and he will be reprimanded and retrained Shocked

I would expect after Manchester police feel pretty vulnerable and its easy to jump to conclusions Embarassed

This could be seen as the main reason most police don't want to carry guns - no apology and compensation would sort this mess if he had Sad Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Couldn't agree more, carrying guns wouldn't have helped the two that were murdered recently, and this would have ended far worse than it did if the thug in uniform hand had something more deadly than a taser.
Come to think of it, how would it have ended if the chap had suffered another stroke? a Hillsborough style cover up?
Just to add balance
You have to remember the majority of the police are doing a reasonable job, they come to work, do thier best and go home, it's a minority that get thier kicks for shoving others around that ruin the image for the majority.
My problem is I know some good lads who were/are in uniform, and have met some real low-lifes wearing the same uniform. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
Replaced by Ewok what a mistake - now a happy Disco Sport owner

You can get walking sticks with a built in sword or that fire bullets even, and you can get a blind man that arent too, one was found out recently after claiming benefits for 20 odd years.
All is not always as it seems or sounds.

MP swears at policeman and uses the phelb word and his head is called for, police refuse to accept apology and insist he's sacked Whistle

On the other hand not even an apology offered, let alone disciplinary action or an inquiry.

Strange world Exclamation
