I don't know if Freelander2 has PTI as standard on all models but if not don't spec it as a factory fitted option. I have just had the dealer fit a Parrot CK3100 in my Sport SE that didn't come with handsfree or PTi. It ahs cost me £285 fitted by the dealer and it is a very good system - will display the phone book from you mobile, mutes the ICE if that is on when you make or receive a call and will recognise any mobile phone or PDA with B/T except some types of PDA running certain software. Only small gripe that I have is that the installer didn't exactly put it in an attractive position where it looks like it's integrated to the dash, but I'll cure that myself with a screwdriver and some velcro. Cost installed by an LR dealer was £285. Will post some pics later How can carbon have a footprint, it has no feet?

Ah yes, but as somebody with 2 left hands and 10 thumbs who has not a jot of knowledge about taking my car to pieces I would rather pay the dealer to do it than wreck the interior and break the Parrot myself.... and my RRS is still under warranty so I would rather not inflict any problems for which Land Rover could charge me even more to put right How can carbon have a footprint, it has no feet?

I totally agree with you Tim, the factory fit PTI on both the Sport & the FL2 is completely rubbish for the price you pay.

Have found out why the Parrot was a bit expensive to fit by asking another company that fits them.......... turns out that many Parrot fitters will not work on an RRS because the job involves dismantling the entire centre console back to the gearbox to get at the audio system and find enough space to install the B/T unit. They don't like the risk of damaging or scratching any of the centre consol units. Best done by a Land Rover dealer they said! Also RRS electronics are done with fibre optic cabling and that is not liked by 3rd party installers apparrently How can carbon have a footprint, it has no feet?

Just had a rental car (Mazda 5) with the 3100 fitted and I have to say it was dam good, better than I expected and in terms of connection it worked like a treat, and the phone calls were clear at both ends. |

Yes, it's a great bit of kit...once fitted! I think I shall put this up as a fresh post to get more views. Thanks. Nick Nick Jones Dog Behaviour Specialist www.alphadogbehaviour.co.uk |

Hi The looms are specific to each model of car, and quite often different for different stereos. I can't imagine a Focus loom working with the FL2. I thought these leads were quite cheap though. Rich |

Yes, they're about £15 I recall. Does anyone know which one I need? Nick Nick Jones Dog Behaviour Specialist www.alphadogbehaviour.co.uk |
