There are draconian regulations about "Mineral Water". It has to be bottled within a certain distance of the spring (except in France, of course). As far as I know you can label anything as "Spring water", including water from the tap. A study a few years ago pointed out that filtered water is actually less healthy than tap water. The chlorine prevents bacterial growth, but if you filter out the chlorine then bacterial growth is likely to occur if the water is kept for any length of time. Most domestic filters do little more than take out the chlorine. The nasty stuff (heavy metals, nitrates) is much harder to remove. |

one of the big brands has a factory in Switzerland where they strip out ( De-mineralise or De-ionise) natural occuring minerals in tap water, they then blend back " balanced" amounts of iron, copper, phosphates etc etc, work that one out. 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership
