yes change flywheel, they dont last long and it will cost plenty to access it again. if the old one isnt too bad it will sell on ebay etc some diy guy will buy it to repair their own motor At work

Well- been to see the car, and quite frankly it's difficult to argue with their diagnosis. The combined release bearing/slave cylinder is indeed in contact with the flywheel, and the flywheel is in a terrible state, wobbles 10mm either way ! Surprised there hasn't been more damage really.

I think thats fair providing they don't inflate the bill to cover their losses Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice. |

Its good of them to pay towards the job but Its still not good customer relations in the first place to properly inform you, bet they wont make that mastake again |

Just found this thread searching for info as my clutch has just failed... a thousand miles from home too, centre of Warsaw.. Its in bits in a friends garage now and I can see its the slave cylinder thats failed due to wear in the DMF.. up until failure there was no hint of problems at all, in fact Ive just crossed Europe and was well pleased with how it was running.. Oh well, parts here tomorrow.. Not a huge job to do with a modest workshop.. Martin, (G0JCN) |
