I've got a Tom Tom start 25. Its got a 5 inch screen as opposed to the 6 inch screen of the TT start 60 that is being retro-fitted on here. Has anyone fitted a smaller screen to the cubby hole? I placed my TT in the cubby today and there is a bit of a gap around it, is there anything that could be used to fill the gap that looks pleasing to the eye? Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

A flat piece of black Perspex would do the job, perhaps matt rather than gloss, there is a template on here for such a piece with the correct sizes, will have a sig around.

Just a quick question - fitting the unit there's 1 proper way as shown but is it possible to run the power lead from behind the unit, through/under the glovebox and extend it to the power outlet in the boot instead of going into fusebox?
Doing it this way i'm guessing it'll power on/ off with the ignition?

The fuse I use in the footwell fuse box powers off with the ignition, running a power cable the shortest route is safer.

I don't think the power socket in the boot is switched with the ignition (but may be wrong - mine doesn't have one). Agreed that the footwell fusebox is the obvious power source.

My 5 inch garmin is fused from the passenger side fusebox like most others on here so as to be powered by the ignition without wires showing, and is the only practical way to do it, photo of a 5 inch fitted in my gallery.
The outlet in the boot is a permanent live direct to the battery.

Our Freelander 2 is now gone, so if anyone is after a TomTom Go for fitting in the cubby boxes place, please feel free to drop me a line. The 'kit' consists of the TomTom, home made mounting brackets, USB adaptor, 12v socket, wiring to the fuse box and earth point as well as the' fuse jumper'.

place the dash surround on a towel, this allows you to get the aperture where the device will sit level, its an odd shape so getting it level helps keep the satnav in place.
Place the satnav and tape in place, check on the other side that it is central, when your happy place back down on the towel and melt the glue onto the unit and dash surround, a couple of blobs either side, allow to cool and check, once your happy glue all the way around, I found that no glue got through to the front and any excess is easily peeled off when cold.
Mines been in place quite some time now and is very secure.

So are you saying to use the glue like you would a sealant gun, going round the edges, rather than putting blobs between the sat nav and console?
