That's fine if you don't have the traffic system power lead attached. Like you I have mine hard wired but I have fitted a short fly lead between the micro input on the Start 60 and the trafficower lead. I can then pull the lead out through a small hole in the dash behind the rubber tray and then connect the normal mini to USB laptop lead. still a pain though particularly when it takes forever to update everything. I will try clearing the cache next time before I update hoping that this will speed things up. Ralph

Got back to garage today and sat with installer whilst he checked everything and he found that the TomTom car adapter wasn't

Just an update and confirming all working well as intended , just one question when connecting laptop outside to check for updates it will be out of wifi range , how do people get round this ?

I have two, both look genuine neither of them work, eBay so say no more, I went and fitted a roof mounted shark fin aerial and spliced it into the aerial on the pod but still nothing.

That is annoying. I really did have to think hard before I spent the money on Amazon to source it. It was not cheap compared to EBay, and I have risked Ebay on things before. As you say, it is probably not a necessary item for you these days, but I wanted you to know that the genuine article works ok. Never tell me the odds. |
