Could be water in fuel - emtying the filter will get rid of the fuel temporarily, but if it's in the tank then the tank will need to be emptied.

Thought I'd ask as some of you may have had a Freelander 1 before progressing to a 2 and remember having this issue?

I assume it's a diesel M47 engine, and not the petrol K series.

IF it is the fuel rail sensor, the only fix is a replacement sensor, which I think is about £80. It's an easy job, as it simply screws into the fuel rail.

They're not as cheap as I thought, but this is the fuel sensor.
