That's not quite right. MaxxRaxx can be fitted to a swan neck.

Costly, but it can be done.

I'm nothing to do with MaxxRaxx, just been using them for 10 years and they are just nuclear bomb proof!

I should have added that I just bought the lighting board holder - should have bought it years ago. It makes such a difference and is very simple but well thought out .

My apologies. You're right, it can be done, and £150 for a clamp is expensive...... I think I might be wary about towing anything with a stabilised hitch (e.g. a caravan) - it looks like you wouldn't have to get too much articulation between the car and trailer before the hitch fouls the post bracket. I'll also be very wary about using the Witter rack as well; although the hitch may well stay clear, I imagine it might be very easy for the bikes and caravan to come into contact once the rig starts to articulate.

Here's a pic of the soon to be fitted detachable flange type towbar:

I'll post some more pics when the towbar is fitted. It might take a while to post pics of the complete ensemble (car, post rack and bikes, and caravan attached) - probably not till next year..... 2010 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE.

I've a saris bones 3 which works fairly well, was just using it today with 2 of three bikes made from what feels like cast iron!! Holds them on well, no wobbling around and I for mine for 100 notes of the bay.

Admitidly not as food as a tow bar rack but I weren't prepared to shell out a couple hundred for the ball and then a 100 for the rack.

Also the saris looks petty nice and is completely rust proof Thumbs Up

Should have took a picture today with it on but I forgot

Does the saris bones 3 lift the bikes up over the plate and lights or have you had to by extra kit
