FREELANDER 2 ALLOY WHEELS 18" or 19"??

Hello,
Looking for a bit of advice, the Freelander 2 we just bought has the 17" alloys on it, the std split spoke yuke things!! Is it wise just to put on the 18" std HSE wheels which I quite like or 19" shadow chrome ones, how does the different sizes effect the jeep? will I feel it in the ride and more importantly where is the best place to find these 2nd hand as Landrover dealers are fortunes for new ones, also what tyres are best to be fitted?
Regards and thanks for any help
Jonathan Regards

Evening Jonathan and welcome to the site, I upgraded to the 18" HSE wheels last year and find there's not much difference in Ride & Comfort, keep an eye on eBay as there's always plenty of wheel and tyre combinations and some good prices as well and the Freel2 courier network may come in handy for pick And up delivery Thumbs Up

jeep Thud

Prepare to be shot...... Laughing

As you go up in size the ride is a little less forgiving but the handling improves, smaller wheels with a higher aspect tyre are better off road, it all depends what you want, the best way, go and a find a dealer with the different sizes on and test drive them.

Wheels come up on here quite often and dealers also have wheels regularly that they need to move on, then of course there is always the bay.

Damn, Toeknee must be typing faster tonight Laughing

Sorry about the jepp thing Sad bit of a bad word I fear Censored
Thanks for advice, really think I just want to go up to the 18" HSE ones as quite nice and think the tyres might be a bit more forgiving on the wallet when need replacing
My problem is Im up outside Edinburgh!!!so anything on Ebay that does come up is collection only and way down south!!!! Crying or Very sad and I fear a carrier would be expensive to get them back up

Not sure on FL2 as I used the standard GS alloys when I had mine and I was happy with them all year round Thumbs Up

However I use 19" in winter on my RRS and way better than the standard 20" summer tyres they fit as standard Rolling Eyes Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

God still cant get it right!!!! Embarassed cant even spell the J**P word now!!!!

Been looking on Ebay, gumtree and had a wee look on here too, spoke to a couple of the local Landrover dealers to see if any had a std set that someone had changed over, no joy yet!!

Not sure if anyone else has any other ideas of places to try that I havent thought off?? Regards

Hi
Thanks for the offer, that great

This delivery network thing sounds a great idea, I will have a look around and see what I can find, if I happen to find a set is it best just to put a post up here looking for some transport, or is there somewhere else on the forum specific to put that kind of request? Regards
