United Kingdom 2010 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Auto Santorini Black
Milenco Grand Aero

Flat or Convex that is the question?
there are plenty of comments leading towards Milenco Grand Aeros as being a good choice but then I find two options and dont know which to buy.
Please can Forum members advise?
I see mention of wedges and addd on rubber straps. I have a 2010 FL ie pre facelift, please can someone identify catalogue numbers and source so I can buy these extras as well.

I prefer two flat lenses but some prefer concave on the nearside and flat on the offside, but if you run with a concave things look closer than they are.

Just to confuse the issue I use convex both sides. Can't stand flats. I have the previous generation Milencos with both clamps and straps. Can't advise on Grand Aeros although I understand that on the Freelander the wedges help. 10MY (Sept 09) TD4 HSE Auto in Stornoway Grey (Now Gone)

Is there any advantage by upgrading to 'wedges' with the security of them, only one of mine disappeared going up the A1 last year. I looked around for any sign of CG but had to blame myself or the weather.

Thanks for the offer Thumbs Up
Mine were standard Aero's but now have 'grand', just bothers me that the same thing could happen again (probably my fault anyway) so was asking if the wedges make it more secure.

Yes the wedges do a good job, well worth it Thumbs Up

I have a spare couple of the flat grips if you want one Dave, I also have a spare used set of Grand Aeros that I acquired at a good price if you lose a complete mirror and arm. Thumbs Up

As I understand it, you only need 'towing mirrors' ....... if your towed unit is wider than the vehicle towing it.

Can someone confirm of correct this information.

With my mini-caravan I have never used 'towing mirrors' as the unit is only 4ft wide. (and I have had it for 14yrs now)
