It's the same engine as the Freelander 2/Evoque linked to the 8 speed gearbox used in the Evoque. |

Eight speed in the Evoque, I thought it was the same box in the Evoque that is in the Freelander and the eight speed box fitted in the Disco, you live and learn |

It is the same gearbox in the Evoque and the Freelander, six speed Aisin unit. |

I really like the XF and going to visit the factory a few months ago left me very impressed indeed.

On that basis, there is absolutely no acceptable excuse for anyone ever buying a 520d again.... |

Probably easier to ask what's been good about it!! Try a search for posts made by oldgeezer and it'll give you some idea of the pleasure he's (not) had from owning a Freelander 2!!! |

With stories like Oldgeezers, I keep wondering when mine's going to start going wrong; 33,500 miles now in just over 10 months and it's still proving to be one of the most reliable cars I've had in 30 years and over a million miles so far....

One issue with the heater on the driver's side blowing hot no matter what the setting - fixed with a software re-load inside 20 minutes of arriving at the dealer, at around 10am on a busy Saturday, without even having an appointment! That's all!! |
