Rain slicker. I grew up in rainy Seattle Washington.
Also known as a rain coat. Bumbershoots, also known as
Umbrellas were for tourists. RC Gorst

Got it, RyGorst, rain coat/macintosh/trenchcoat/waterproof/pacamac/oilskins, etc, etc. Isn't English wonderful? Smile
By the way, over here we drive LAND Rovers, not Rovers, which are/were a different breed altogether. The Rover car company, once known for quality motor cars, favoured by the discerning motorist, spawned the original Land Rover after WWII when times were hard over here. Sadly the Rover car company is no more and has not made (our) Land Rovers for many years. Crying or Very sad 10MY (Sept 09) TD4 HSE Auto in Stornoway Grey (Now Gone)

My apologies. I did not know the history of the rover.
I will make the appropriate change to my profile, and
From this day forward I will driva a Land Rover. RC Gorst

Don't apologise, RyGorst! It was just a friendly pointer! The world-wide membership of this forum is an endorsement of the Freelander/FL2 qualities and popularity - the forum is all the better for it! Just as the English language is all the more colourful for its varied use in so many lands.
NB. We will drive Land Rovers together!
