Now that they are running at capacity at Halewood (for the first time since Lord Knows When), perhaps Land Rover could simply take over Ellesmere Port and use it to build more Land Rovers |

At the Geneva Motor Show last week the Dr. Speth - JLR boss - gave a press conference and whilst he did not give specific numbers he did mention "expansion" in the UK workforce, and specifically emphasised (this sounded very strange coming from a German whose accent is dreadful on my ear when speaking in English) JLR's commitment to its British origins and brand design.

This is great news for Halewood. I have friends who work there who report there's a real buzz about the place. ...

Had to call the LR Assist guy out yesterday (low battery triggered other psuedo engine faults) and he mentioned the 1000 new jobs at Halewood and the fact that it was or would be working 22 hour days. He also mentioned that LR & Jaguar had 17 new or facelifts due in next 2 years. In respect to Evoque trims and what have you finding there way into FL2, he suggested it was unlikely as LR were trying to keep Land Rover and Range Rover as two distinct brands. RR upmarket and LR as workhorse market.

why ever disable the unlock , people who are leaving their car long term expect battery troubles, but not someone who is going to hospital for 3 weeks of having a long holiday. At work

I suppose if you put it in the garage and didn't lock the doors - it would go into "deep sleep" with the doors unlocked.

Hi again - the solution it appears to wake up is to unlock car using key in front passenger door and then insert fob as normal into dash. Its the fob insertion that appears to be the "awakener".
