Probably depends on how the tester is feeling on the day! Mine were swapped out for standard bulbs during service/MOT as they look a little blue when comparing them to the H7's.

As long as you have the white LEDs you won't have any MOT problems ...... otherwise all new Audi owners would fail Laughing I have noticed that some of the local boy racers are using 'blatant blue' LEDs but they are just asking for a pull by the plod. Cheers,

Got them working MartynB and they look great Thumbs Up

As you said, the sidelights looked dingy and yellow next to the new lights but now the LED's have made a fantastic improvement.

By the way mcphersonstrut you were right, 1 needed swapping around and 1 was right first time Laughing Thumbs Up LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

Great news 'Doc' - I've got my LED side lights now and Halfrauds H7's

Now just need a few minutes to fit them....

Any hints as to the orientation of the LED's (is there any markings that can be seen on them) Thumbs Up 2002 Honda VFR800

No it's just pot luck but it's no big deal because having disconnected and removed the headlight unit completely to fit the LED, I got my dad to hold the unit in position whilst I re-connected the power but left the LED light hanging out to test it. First one I guessed wrong but second was right first time so it's just 50/50.

The most annoying part is dragging the unit out. Lifting the lever thingy and pulling it out was a faff but the rest is easy. Page 52 of the manual onwards Thumbs Up LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

Also, the manual states that to remove the bulb you push the bulb inwards and twist. This turned out to be a big fat lie as it simply pulled straight out. Faffing with pushing and twisting achieved nothing Shocked Laughing LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

Look good don't they ?

I do think the LED sidelights are great, I'm so impressed with the combination of 4 x Halfrauds 120's and the 8 LED Fleabay sides that I'm going to put them in my bike when I have next week off work. i'm sure that at night on an unlit country road you can drive safely and 10mph faster with the new light set up compared to the old ones, best £60 you can spend on " modifications" Thumbs Up 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

OK - so I have a pair of Halfords H7 brighter lamps and a pair of LED side lights ready to fit.

Just had a look at the front of the headlight units and they have markings showing both dipped and main beam as H7 lamps.

My question is - is there any difference between the two lamps or is it just how they are used by the light unit????

I want to just have to change the lamps once.... thanks 2002 Honda VFR800

Put your new lamps in the dipped beam lampholder, the one one nearest to the sidelights, the inner ones are high beam lamps. Thumbs Up

Thanks for the reply Taz.

So are the two lamps actually different? meaning the parts i'd buy from halfords?

I notice that one is visible but the other seems to behind a shield thing! i assume the shield makes it dipped beam Confused 2002 Honda VFR800

H7 is H7 fitting, the two lamps are the same, can go in either but you need 4 to complete unlike the later models that have 1 H7 and 1 H11 each side.
