A newer sat nav dvd will update the navigation os and not any other modules.
As mentioned very little changes in mapping as updates are only applied when the dvd version is released and many new roads are still omitted.
"factory fitted" sat navs are always limited but do look and integrate into the car better.

I must say i'm pretty happy with the factory Satnav, even compared to other factory and after markets ones i've used. Even the "Voice Activation" System work well, very handy or no need of hands!  MY15
