England 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 Sport Auto Sumatra Black
Should I stay or should I go now ?

Delemer.... Found a nice Range Rover sport for sale
Should I trade in my Freelander and 'Upgrade'(controversial)

Has anyone gone to the dark side and regretted it ?
Or came from a Range Rover and loving it ?

Cheers SD4 Sports LE Black ...

I'm not qualified to answer but have a word with CG, he's under the impression he's 'upgraded' Neutral

My company car lease expires in 2013, I'm thinking of leaving the scheme and taking cash to fund a car I can take with me for early retirement in 2015, a RRS will certainly be on my wishlist, it is definitely an very nice car and although it probably for most people does not do a better job than the Freelander it certainly has m ore presence on the road. If you can afford the extra tax insurance and running costs go for it. 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

I was in my dealer last week, there stood a shiny new Firenze Red RRS, I would have sold a kidney there and then, someone, however, has beat me too it, with cash rather than a kidney!!

Nice cars indeed, the newer ones, old black ones are ten a penny and a little long in the tooth many with chequered histories Laughing

Fuel would be my only concern, company reimbursement is sufficient with the FL2, the RRS would leave a sizeable hole.

Just do it Thumbs Up

insurance £50 pa more than fl2
tax disc quite a bit more
fuel mpg lower than a manual fl2, rrs is auto so I cant compare properly. not a totally terrible guzzler though. costs £120 to refuel but not as often
smile per gallon very high Thumbs Up

otherstuff = nice motor, bags of room, comfortable. air suspension really helps with the magic carpet ride effect , leading to much lower road noise too.
I can actually use the rrs offroad on the farm occasionally, something I didnt do in the fl2 due to clearence worries,I just raise the suspension, instead of swapping into my ford pickup.
spare wheel is a full sized alloy , not a tin of foam Thumbs Up

silly things annoy
rear wash wipe cant squirt and wipe at same time????
rear map lights dont come on when you open door ,can be altered diy annoying when fastening child seats.
windows wont open from key fob

oh and villagers get jealous and kick ten bags out of you in dark alleys Evil or Very Mad

I would struggle to be tempted back to an fl2 now especially with a second child arriving soon At work

Is the load space considerably different CG?
Havnt had too close a look at one, it might taint the freely experience Laughing

I have recently bought a freelander 2 for my wife as we have our first child due in a few weeks and I wanted to get her something safer and bigger than the mini cooper convertible she has!!
I am pleased so far with the freelander and think
It will be great for one child but I plan on changing it to something bigger if we have a second child , probably go for a disco or the sport then....

If you need the space or prefer the look then go for it..... Thumbs Up Black FL2

Theres no doubt that a range rover sport looks good. proportions are much better than the normal range rover. I do like the freelander 2 but I am not keen on the new style as i've said before. I think a hse sport would be perfect. Depends what your after. If you want pure luxury go for the range rover but be prepared to pay for it especially if you go second hand and it goes wrong..

reliability

Guess you should also consider their respective reliability stats. Isn't the RR one of the least relaible cars in the world; however desireable when its running?!!!

maybe so but going from a manual fl2 with its weak clutch/flywheel to a warranted RRS didnt seem a bad idea, even though I never overstressed the clutch by towing At work
