The problems with the diff that people are having and the dpf issues are putting me off buying a 2nd FL and i love mine so much, i would have definitely bought another in the future Sad 59 TD4e XS in galway green

The amount of Diff Bearings failing is concerning but, you only get to hear of the ones that fail and not the ones that have not, but saying that normally a Diff is fitted at the factory and forgotten.

I don't believe this! Startstone are currently refusing to pay for the repair under warranty as it's "Wear and Tear" and not covered by their warranty! So P Censored D Off I've only it had it just over a month!! Granted its used but whats the point of me paying £3000 extra for a car from a dealer if they just weasel out of paying. I might aswell of saved the 3k and bought it from a pikey!

I'm surprised that you thought Crapstones were expensive. I bought my FL from them due to them being about £2k less than everyone else (and they bought my car for more than anyone else offered me).

Bummer about the warranty though. Interesting as when i bought mine from CrapStones, i specifically asked the question about the diff and said that i was worried with all this talk of them failing and I was told by Crapstones that 'they don't go anymore on the newer ones and that it was a problem with the older ones'. My salesman told me that as I made sure that i asked the question. 59 TD4e XS in galway green

I shouldn't of gone after a month after purchasing it though! And the only reason i bought from a dealer was to have peace of mind! I could of bought the same car privately for 3k less!

If i were you, i would get in touch with their parent company (if that's the right expression for them).

Pendragon.

When i wasn't happy with the state that my FL had been passed over to me in, i contacted Pendragon and they were extremely helpful. They were in contact with the dealer principal at Donc the same day and he rang me hiimself. I took it back in and he personally stood in the workshop until i was satisfied with it.

Definitely an email to Pendragon if i were you Thumbs Up

I just went onto the Pendragon site and used the 'contact us' form. I just typed something like 'please can you tell me who to speak to regarding a complaint with Strtstone'. They emailed me straight away and sorted it the same day Thumbs Up
The lady i dealt with emailed me afterwards to make sure i was happy and said if there is anything else, to contact them again Wink 59 TD4e XS in galway green

If I was you I would politely and courteously give Land Rover customer services a call to see if they think it should be covered under the LR warranty - I assume as you bought from a LR dealer they gave you an official 12 month warranty? Losing your rag at LR customer services won't do any favours but being polite often wins the day Smile

Edit - sorry just rereading the posts on Page 1 and looks like you've had it over 12 months but decided to take out some extra warranty (was this LR extra warranty)?

I bought it from a stratstone jaguar/landrover dealer on december 27th which came with 12 months warranty. On the landrover site it says all approved used cars come with 6 months select warranty if bought from a dealer with the option to upgrade to 12 or 24 months. If you read the warranty documentation it covers bearings in the diff!! Its an absolute joke..

Sorry you confused me by saying it had been diagnosed by Colliers.

You need to go back again with the warranty paperwork..if they don't take any notice...off to trading standards!

After many phone calls back and fourth they are finally footing the bill for the repair. Initial response from crapstone's warranty company VERY POOR! But I am pleased that the guy at Wolverhampton has sorted it out for me.
