My next car is prob gonna be a yeti. Also the lada Niva/kossack is amazing, I had one when I was 15 as a toy! I taught my self to drive in it, you could not destroy it even if you tried completely indestructible!Y

England 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Auto Baltic Blue

Lada used to be imported into Yorkshire [Bridlington], they do say that an old Niva is one of the cheapest and best things you can get for use at pay n play sites.

If the bottom was to fall out of the Chicken market there could be at least one in Yorkshire, and of course they tow well to. Gone, 2007 TD4 SE Auto Baltic blue, clear side repeaters, full sized alloy spare.

English by birth..... Yorkshire by the grace of God.

Re: Badge Snobbery?

I had a new Sorento and the price reflected what it was, I was very dissapointed in it. One major fault it went back 4 times for and never fixed was switching to 4WD mode the ABS light came on and wouldn't go into 4WD. This was due to constant corrosion on the wiring and Kia refused to do a complete harness rewire so I got rid of it
Believe me Kia is NOT all it tries to make out my wife has a Kia ceed estate and that too has had several faults.

The biggest let down by Kia is their backup service, it is almost non existant as most parts have to be sourced from Korea and can take weeks to arrive in this country, I should know. Thats why they offer a 7 yr warrantee

At least Land Rver parts are readily available or obtained within a couple of days and that makes the difference Ex 2010 Freelander2 GS-e Diesel manual Silver owner

I wanted my wife to look at the Skoda/Kia, etc as personally I think they offer great value for money, but she wouldn't even go into the showroom and wouldn't be seen in one.

I think that is badge snobbery, but I think it is how she perceives these vehicles, as they used to be cheap rubbish, but they have moved on, but she hasn't !!

Iain I'd stick with the wifes opinion! Razz What the hell are you going to do with a SKODA in 3 years, ye they are nice I had driven one but its a SKODA Razz lol. I think most of us are badge snobs whether you like to admit it or not. I'd much prefer to be seen in a bottom of the range land rover than a top spec SKODA! Razz

miowww, sorry but RRS is a much finer car than an fl2, I've had it long enough now to be qualified to say that. it will cost more to run undoubtedly , hey ho.

Sunday morning I drove the RRS to harrogate to rescue my pickup truck (taxi back night before) , I nearly cried when I jumped in the pickup felt like an old banger after the luxury of the RRS. then I got in a tangle at a y junction because the steering lock is so crap,, Mrs G behind in the RRS managed it fine.

And whilst in harrogate I learned my best mate from years back has bought a caravan Evil or Very Mad
he's taking it,wife and kids to Scotland soon, knowing his wife I think it will be their one and only vaning trip At work

I'm only jealous, if the diesel fairies ever appear I would get one, not black though, suits lighter colours for me.
Local dealer had a pale blue metallic, very nice.
