Hi Frans, it does happen on occasions and there seems to be no reason for it. The first time it happened with mine was 1 week from new, the drivers side mirror tried to close but refused, I tried to reset it by pushing/pulling as in the manual but no good and the next day it was OK and has never happened since Confused

Apparently it says from time to time you must forcibly push and pull the mirror away from it's operating travel a few times to get the lubrication working again. You won't break it and afterwards just let it click back into place, you can also use a silicone spray between the 'faces' if need be but there shouldn't be a need to dismantle it.

Mine were creaking a bit when i bought it. The lovely chaps on here had suggested the spray to someone else so i bought some. I just sprayed as far into the 'workings' of it as i could and it's fine now Thumbs Up 59 TD4e XS in galway green

No-one on here has mentioned having to take it apart for this, grab hold of it and give it a good push then pull, you won't break it as you will feel it click back to its correct position.
LR recommend this to gather the grease that has moved to the ends of travel.
