FREELANDER 2 2007 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER NOT WORKING!

Freelander 2 2007, slow to start this morning, charged battery after it was tested to be ok, reconnected to FL2 and she fired up first time only thing is instrument cluster completely dead, with absolutely no dials gauges or warning lights, saw a post on tinternet that this had happened to some people after LR assist had started their FL 2s at the roadside , to be told they would have to get a software reset at the dealers. Does anyone else know a different way of getting the instrument panel back on again as it's a 120 mile round trip for me to go to the dealers, (and £90 per hour charge). WAMMG

FL2 Instrument Cluster not working

Hi Guys, thank you for the quick response, checked all the plugs on the passenger side and there are a few, all where you would rest your foot, especially your toes, (fidgeting), so wires could easily get caught.
There are a few grey coloured block connectors and some with grey wires, found one slightly loose, it clicked home, had a ratchet type holder. Plugged key in no joy, checked fuses 4 and 8,(removed them) they were ok, plugged key in again all systems are go. Thumbs Up I am wondering did the plug become slightly loose causing my FL 2 not to start and disconnecting fuse 8 reset the dash again, also noticed the consul panel in the passenger side foot well had been removed before as it was held by an elastic band which allowed access to grey plug behind centre consul.
Again thanks for the leads and quick responce Thumbs Up Bow down WAMMG

My 2007 GS has a similar problem but in this instance the failure of the instrument panel is triggered by braking.

The panel switches back on when the footbrake is released and the car otherwise drives fine. Any thoughts?

Mr Shenker,
Have you replaced any bulbs recently? a wrong bulb or wrongly fitted bulb can do this as can a blown fuse on a different circuit. Also bad earth. All FL2's (3) Gone
2011 Mercedes C180 CGI Gone
FL2 GS Auto SD with heated leather, factory tints, alloy spare and a few other bits.
