Thats surprised me. My freelander one had the diesel burning heater. It took me a while to find out what the noise was (the diesel pump) and then the smoke coming from thr front passenger side. People used to stop me and say that they thought my car was on fire.

When I got the freelander two the sales guy at Hunters told me that it had the same feature and was telling me to avoid a call later as most people ring thinking they have a fault.

I have only had it during the summer so hadn't noticed and was so used to it might not notice anyway.

Perhaps a Defender 110 double cab would be best.

Poland 2011 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Auto Lago Grey

Today I'm a little bit bored in my work so while spending time on internet I've found something peculiar on my cars topix page.

As you can see, it is clearly stated, that my F2 is equipped with fuel fired heater. I found it strange, because while I was buing my set of wheels it wasn't stataed in a specification in an offer that my F2 would have such a device. On the other hand two days ago when I fired an engine to repark the car, after I got off the vehicle the I heard the noise which sounded like a heater (note that it is -15 / - 25 degrees here right now)

And now for the questions:

How much can I rely on topix site?
How to confirm the existance of this device under my cars hood (where should it be located, and how does iit actualy look like)?
If it is indded there, than would it be possible to add some remote control to ignite it couple of minutes before geting on my way?

You can get an auxiliary heater on Freelander, only if you pay for it as an extra option when ordering your car. Only for Freelanders built for Russian market the diesel-powered heater comes as standard.

Well, why is it in the Topix than?
Every single other item there is exactly true about my car...
Furthermore my F2 is of a limited version available only in Poland, called S-Design and has not very typical kit (different than for example S, or GS in the UK)

Not necessary only for Russia. I have it and a few other members too.
And generally Topix is correct. At least I didn't see until now an error on the cars' configuration.
As for confirmation, look for its exhaust.
It should be a small pipe, thumb size diameter, behind the front right wheel, under the plastic protection of the wheel's arch. The exhaust's end is about at one palm distance from the sill and oriented towards the centre of the car. See picture below.
And yes, you can install the remote heater start.
You can ask your dealear to do it as it implies modification of the firmware in a few car's modules and the installation of a T91 Webasto Telestart.
