United Kingdom 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Auto Zermatt Silver

Coniston Hall in North Yorkshire on the A65 from Skipton is probably the ideal match for Land Rover and aspiring owners, A Country House Hotel, Restaurant , Trout fishing, The LR Experience a Falconry centre and a very well laid out Clay Shooting ground, offering Sporting Clays, Skeet and Trap, so all in all not a bad place for a weekend if you are minted Rolling with laughter , I think the game shooting on the estate there belongs to a private syndicate run by the Estate owners, there are certainly flight ponds for ducks as you go down towards the clay club

I first went 25 years ago when Colin Appleyard used to run Suzuki off road days there and we bought a brilliant little red SJ413 convertable truck from them, brand new I think it was about 7 grand ... happy days.

Still back to the present, I think we will be playing at Lord of the Manor for the day up there, only problem is our young 'un can shoot better than i can Censored 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

It is good over there, I had my LR experience day at Coniston and some of us from here met up for a 'shooting day', thread here http://www.freel2.com/forum/topic8360.html

Excellent day out in good surroundings Thumbs Up

I can also recommend Rockingham Castle, near Market Harborough in Leicestershire. Excellent off road tracks with plenty of variety to suit all from complete novice to accomplished off-roader.

Was in my local dealers a week or so ago and they had a sign offering a complimentary experience voucher if you had a test drive. Don't know if the offer is at all dealers or if it is still running.

Hunters offer a "free" LR experience if you book a winter health check. http://www.hunterslandrover.co.uk/special-...check.aspx
£40 seems a bit steep...

Another vote for the Honiton experience centre. Did a paid for morning in their vehicle and a whole day with them in our car around south east Devon including fording the river Otter. The only really challenging bit was due to a manhole in a lane and the FL2's slightly limiting ground clearance.
Also had a freebie at Eastnor Castle and although we were in a defender we didn't do anything our FL2 wouldn't have done easily!

Must get round to using my voucher from Matford, Exeter, but will have to wait until at least mid-December. Hope we have some snow then & the centre will still be open ... looking to see what the Avon Ranger Ice tires can do in the snow!

Question You normally do it in their cars, which have normal road tyres. Unless you've booked to take your own vehicle round?

Quite right Pastmaster ... was aware of that & should have been clearer ... would expect the Ranger Ice's to add even more performance.
