Who is the maker of the manual gearbox ?
Is there any other vehicles that use this ?
It's for the 2007 model, that leads to another qustion, have there been some
Changes from 2007 up to 2011 on the gearbox ?

The M66EHA50 manual transmission is a 6 speed unit manufactured by Getrag-Ford in Cologne, Germany.

Others perhaps can answer the other questions Question

I've driven both and the gearchange is much smoother on later models. That horrible 'clunk' has gone.
They must have changed something. Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

My 2007 GS has never cluncked. Always thought it was the best gearchange I've used.

cannot find anything on TOPix to suggest something was changed, my 2006 SE is a bit clunky.

The first Freelander 2 I had which I traded in at the beginning of the year had become notchy in the gear change, especially in a morning until the oil was warm you had to sort of ease the syncros in.

I greased the cables on mine and transformed the gearbox, that was after many attempts to grease the cabin end of the cable , it seems to be the box end, be sure to get the grease under the rubber cable sleaves. I used silicon grease I think? At work

I know what you say CG but it felt like lazy syncros, it felt fine when it was warmed up.
