Hi All, I have a problem with automatic gearbox on my Freelander 2 HSE SD4 which I purchased new November 2010.

Problem; when setting off from standstill my gearbox omits a strange noise when the gears are changing from first to second, with my freelander experiancing a momentry loss of traction; the problem is intermitant. The car has been back to my local LR dealership with the LR factory gearbox experts involved; the final report states the gearbox is working as designed and I need to drive the car harder when setting of from standstil (this is almost impossible when driving around town, most cars these days are being driven with the cost off fuel in mind).
Question, has anybody heard about or had this problem, what can I do to get this problem resolved being has LR have stated the fault lies with me and how I drive the car and not the gearbox... which I do not agee with.

Yes, it's a characteristic sound of the drivetrain.
You'll get it, generally, when the engine/gearbox are warm-up to normal working temperature and on light to medium throttle. And and sometimes you'll hear it from 2nd to 3rd also.
Wait to see how it sounds after an intense off-road session....
