Thanks Tigger, I have been informed that these were LR Managment cars and not on lease, they all seem to be in very good order and are March 2010 registered.

I'm back from Duckworths. They offered me a lot less for my p/x than i have been offered and their prices were more expensive so i didnt bother. The saleswoman wanted me to take finance but i told her that i have the extra cash if i had agreed with the price to change. It was her price to change that was way dearer than any others i have found.

Hi Annie,

Have you thought about selling privately and buying privately?

You will defo get more for your money. Get a specialist to check out a private sale and also look into buying extended warranty for it.

I can see so many for sale in the Autotrader website.

Just a thought Smile

Did they say exactly they were LR Management cars or did they say they were direct from LR, they may be, not that it matters much but they could be ex Enterprise cars, LR sell them to Enterprise to be used as LR Assist cars after 12 to 18 months they are returned to LR who then send them to the dealers. The V5 will reveal all. Thumbs Up

In Norway some of the S models have TR and fog lights. As i understand you can choose a S model and put on the extras you want, but if you choose the HSE model everything are included.

Is there not an old Project on here where someone retro'd TR?
Just required the switchs and 10 for cash to enable it?

United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 S Manual Baltic Blue

We have the S model, which was in our price bracket and got us into the whole Land Rover 'thing' which I love. From 3 years experience, it has been a great vehicle to drive, and I remember a review in one of the Land Rover Owners magazines saying that the relative lack of gizmos and gadgets means less to go wrong etc. The 16" wheels are not to everyones taste, but tyres are cheapish at around the £100 mark each, and we have two sets now, with AT tyres on for severe weather. There are loads of 16" rims available out there to obtain as a spare (one of the 1st things I did), and with the side rubbing strips fitted by the dealer, ours looks rather good after 4 years. I also bought some chrome side tubes through here some time ago, so it doesn't look too bare. the only thing I think would look much better would the be the missing front fog lights, but I can live with that. I just count myself lucky to own one of these vehicles in the 1st place. Tows our caravan like a dream too. FL2 TD4 S Baltic Blue, with twin electrics and towbar, roofrails, luggage cover, spare wheel and mudflaps.

S model

Ive bought a 59 plate td4 e 's', okay it is fairly basic but it does the job well, mine has privacy glass fitted to the rear which improves the look and probably didnt cost that much. As for the terrain response, i think under 99% of conditions sensible use will be adequete to keep it in control. I paid 14000 for a 2009 model with 26k on the clock. Id happily recommend the s and think for value for money its unbeatable!

I cannot see where all the money goes on the HSE except for a few bits of electronic window dressing and not even full leather seats. If I was spending the money again and had enough for the HSE, would buy 2 'S's instead as I think you should get twice the car for twice the money. As for TR, if you fiddle with the knob too much it will probably drop off!

mojo, once you've had an HSE you do appreciate all the "toys", whether you use them on a regular basis or not.

personally I wouldn't settle for anything less, but we all have different comfort levels and if your happy with an S that's just great.

like everything in life it's what makes you happy !!

Off the top of my head, 10forcash said all the wires were there apart from a white? One, which could be added and cut into the system and yes, there was a bit on the fault mate to enable it. That said, he hadn't tried it when I last spoke to him.
