is there a receall / free fix from landrover for this

I have a manual FL2, and very often when attempting to shift from 4th to 5th the gear lever gest stuck between gears, it feels like it is in neutral, but wont accept any gear.
Then u just have to coast to a stop, and 'play' with the gear selector until you can find 5th, then back to neutral.

I took it back to landrover lewes before and they said there was no fault.

Generally gear selection is very stiff & clunky - very poor.

A similar question was posed under Maint and Mods about sticky 1st and 2nd Gear selection. Recommendation was that the gear linkage probably needs lubricating at the gearbox end. It's not a common fault and there is to my knowledge no recall action.

There is a gearbox solenoid fitted to stop you accidently selecting reverse when attempting to engage 5th or 6th, if you when changing gear you knock the sensor you have to come to a stop to reset it. the chances are either the sensor is faulty or as it has been known to do a wire as come off or the sensor has become dislodged, cant remember if the sensor is actually on the gearbox or not but I have a suspicion it is below the gearlever.

Thanks, I lubricated it today, will see if this improves.

Gearbox certainly should not be clunky. Smoothest box I've ever used.
