Electronic Brake Assist ???

Hi .. Am new to the forum so any help and / or advice would be greatly appreciated ..

I have a07 plate Freelander 2 with about 60k miles ... The issue is that there is a red warning lamp which keeps coming on on the dash. The handbook sys its the Electronic Brake Assist ... but its very very intermitent.
I have taken it into my local LR workshop and they say that there is nothing wrong with it and that when they plugged it into the diagnostic, no faults were identified.

I beg to differ !!!

It started to illuminate when going around a right hand bend/roundabout, then when the car was level and going straight ahead the light went off.
Now its more frequent, and is on most of the time, especially when pulling away and the forces push on the back of the car.

Can anyone give me an idea what this fault could be ... I have heard mention of the accelerometer ??!!

is this something that is easy enough to change, is it expensive ??

Any ideas please ...

Cheers. Mark

Did you checked the brake pads?
Did you checked the brake fluid level? Especially if you get the light when accelerating, turning and so on...

Take a look at the picture below and tell us which light are you talking about:

Thanks for the reply ...

The pads are ok at the moment ... getting low (LR garage stated they were ok in service a month and a half ago), but this fault has been occuring for quite a while now...

The fluid is also correct.

The light in question is 7

According with the service manual, that bulb lights as follows:
Amber - if an EBA (Emergency Brake Assist) error is present
Red - if an EBD (Electronic Brake Distribution) error or a low level brake fluid situation is present.
EBD is about limiting and optimizing the brake pressure to rear wheels.
Let's not think about this a little as it will imply a check on the hydraulic unit of the ABS system.
Therefore please check again the brake fluid level... Just to be sure.
And also the brake level sensor and it's connector.
