try & get genuine filter.
2nd, spent 47 years working on diesels. rule of thumb is a minimum of 20ltrs in a tank just to start.
I never ever allow mine to drop below a quarter.

A simple boost leak can cause too much soot, as can a leaky injector as can a restricted air intake as so could a problematic EGR valve. |
