I collected 12v switched from the rear plug, opening the console rear the hand brake and inserting a new cable till the dashboard.
Otherwise you can use the 12v switchd power supply of the radio.

I removed only the crossbar (see my gallery), not roof rail, and noise stopped.
I think that roof rail can be used without cross bar is you carry only light weight ... |

in VW new Tiguan GRC only works if seat belt is fastened.
VW fears you can use GRC brake as it was and hand brake.
