"auto-folding" mirrors

Do your auto-folding mirrors work correctly - mine only work properly every 2nd attempt, meaning :

a) 1st attempt : fully lock doors (double click on keyfob) - mirrors do not fold close

b) unlock the doors, Big Cry

c) 2nd attempt : fully lock doors (double click on keyfob) - mirrors, this time, do fold close

It went back to the dealers yesterday for a software update - but not sure they did anything, since the mirrors still do not auto-fold ??

Anyone checked that their mirrors are working correctly recently ??

Hi Jimmy

My mirrors fold on the first pess of the locking button.
The second press just activates double locking.

Thumbs Up

Mine close when ever the car is locked, by one or two clicks of the fob

Though I do like how yours work, as it gives the option on wether you want them to close or not. But the down side is one click = no alarm. Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Thanks Paul,

You've confirmed that mine definitely don't work properly.

Out of interest - how have you set up the locking option ? Does 1 press on the keyfob unlock button open all doors or just the drivers door ?

On my car:
1 click is driver's door and fuel cap only
2 clicks rest of the doors and boot

I believe this change is in the newest software update.

I've just had a software update which I presume is the latest version and mine works as it did before the update:-

1 press opens drivers door, fuel flap and tailgate.
2 presses opens all the other doors.

Unless the stealer didn't do the update Confused ______________________

I think we've got this locking conversation going somewhere else too ...

But whilst I'm here ... ... ... after a recent software update I've lost the boot from first click on the alarm so am now the same as RW, where I used to be similar to UKdave104 ....

Confused, I know I am Thumbs Up

You can change how the unlocking works. It's in the manual, so combination of locking/unlocking then holding the button for a few seconds. You do need to do it for each key fob though.

Made the other half much happier, rather than leaving her out in the rain, as I forgot to double press, again.

Jimmy - I have got exactly the same mirror problem with mine, has done it from the day I picked it up (less than a week ago!). Did you manage to get it fixed?

Not yet !

They have advised that a software update will be released on 15th Jan to solve this problem.

However - I have found an interim "fix". Each time you exit the car (and just before you lock it) - press the unlock button on the keyfob.

Then lock as normal - and you should find that your mirrors will "auto" fold each time.

Try it out - does it work on yours ?

Geez they give you all some cooler options than the USA models. We don't have a mirror "auto-fold" option on any of our lr2's. Anyone know how tricky it would be to install this motor? Since the rest of the car is so wired, I wonder if they mirrors are already wired for auto-folding option.. Ill have to crack open one of them and see what kind of wires are in it.

Do you have the electric adjustment on the mirrors so you can alter what angle the mirror is at?

If so to manually close, we (in the UK) can press both buttons at the same time to manually fold in the mirrors Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

auto folding

User manual says:

The mirrors can be configured by your land Rover Dealer/Authorised repairer to automatically fold when the vehicle is locked, and unfold when it is unlocked.
see pag 96.

Bye
