Try disconnecting the door plug and looking for corrosion in the loom causing the power to be ‘tracking’ to the repeater.

Try it in command shift & change gear manually & see if it's better?
Although rare, the torque converter/autobox can cause this. Like the Disco 3 6 speed symptoms.

If an injector has combustion blowing past the washer, then the likelihood is the alloy seat in the head has been indented due to the combustion wearing the seat.

I would suspect an air leak where he took the inlet manifold off.

I can confirm s/hand keys can't be used or reprogrammed, they are code once only. I have tried to reprogram using IDS/SDD & it won't work, only brand new keys
