I had a Toyota Avensis 2.2 d4d (no DPF) and the EGR valve would soot up every 6 months or so, but it was a 10 minute job to take it off and clean it up. I'd get 52 mpg with that car.

I use Good Year Wranglers, they have never let me down and they are reasonable to buy. I live in the Scottish Highlands and they took me through my first winter with my FL2 with no problems.
