after the mistakes with the halfords HB3 bulbs ( too long, shatter) I swapped back to the standard Philips 0730067 9005-PR HB3 bulbs
however... i am changing bulbs about once a year - looking thro ... |

as per subject
if after 20K ( from new) you are told that the risk disks need changing ( along with the pads) would you be worried ? Pads I will accept but the disks ?

Depends on driving style and types of drives, motorways use little, towns use a lot, mine got to 55k.
£579 +vat is taking you for a ride, my LR dealer quoted £400 for fronts and did them on a speci ... |

OK got to route of problem.
Glass from previous exploding bulbs had jammed both high beam shutters!
Cleaned out both lamps, both now working. 
which manufacturers bulbs out of curiosity ? |

If you search you will find quite a lot of information already. I have used Halfords high output which consistently only lasted a month ... |

the halfords ones are too long and on mine seemed to be jamming on the shutter. every time one blew it jammed the shutter ..
swapping back to the standard Phillips one ... |

My local garage refuse to fit bulbs except Genuine Land Rover parts. They say the others don't last. Although some on here are happy to fit Halfords bulbs.
